Discovering Videography: A Journey Through My Lens

Videography didn’t just appear in my life—it grew into something special, right before my eyes. Growing up, I’d sit glued to the TV, mesmerised by the moving images and the stories they told. Back then, those video cameras were huge, almost like magic machines, and it was hard to imagine ever owning one myself. The idea of capturing movement, of bottling up moments in motion rather than in a still photo, seemed amazing yet distant. But something about it stuck with me.

Cinematics

My first hands-on experience with videography started with a small, red Handycam. It wasn’t fancy, but it was mine, and with it, I could finally start capturing the world as I saw it. From there, I moved on to mobile cameras and eventually got my hands on a Nikon S8100. That camera opened up a whole new world for me—timelapses and cinematic shots became my playground. With every video, I tried to express not just what I was seeing but how I felt in those moments. It was my way of sharing my own perspective, of saying, "This is how I see the world, and maybe, you might feel it too."

Offical Video making

As I grew more confident, I realised I could use my skills in a meaningful way. I started making videos for the institutions I was involved with—virtual lab tours, promotional videos, and even some teaching materials. When I began teaching, video became a tool to enhance learning. I recorded lectures, created course videos, and made supplementary content, hoping to make learning a bit more engaging and accessible for my students. Each video was a chance to give back and use this skill for something beyond just a hobby.

Vlogs

But videography was never just work for me; it’s deeply personal. I found myself drawn to storytelling, especially through vlogs and travel videos. There’s something magical about capturing a place, a moment, an experience, and sharing it with others. It’s like letting someone else walk with you, feel what you felt, even if just for a few minutes.

tech reviews

Over time, I ventured into tech reviews too—my engineering side just couldn’t resist. I love discovering unique tech products, exploring how they work, and sharing what I find, whether it’s a gadget I’m testing or a travel trick I’ve picked up along the way.

Videography has grown with me, from that red Handycam to where I am now. It’s a blend of everything I love: technology, creativity, and connection. I’ve learned that videography isn’t just about making videos; it’s about sharing a part of myself, letting others see the world as I do, and maybe inspiring them to capture their own moments too.
